Growing in Faith |
 |
|
| Accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is the starting point of an awesome journey that will impact every aspect of your life. Our goal as Christians is to become more like Jesus Christ every day.
Disciple, discipline and discipleship all have the same Latin root word: discipulus, which means pupil. Christ-followers are learners. They are in process of applying what they learn so they can grow in their faith.
The best way to grow in your faith is to become disciplined in developing some key spiritual habits. Here are a few spiritual habits that will help you grow in faith.
Bible Reading/Study - Set a specific time to feed your spirit just like you set time to feed your physical body! Learning and applying the principles of the Bible is vital to living a victorious Christian life.
|
| Persistent Prayer - Prayer is simply a conversation with God. Conversation is two-way communication; you speak to God and He speaks to you. Prayer invites God into your daily situations.
Praise God - Praise is preoccupied with who God is and what he has done. Making praise a habit is easy – you can listen to praise & worship songs while you drive, at home, or while you exercise. It will change your atmosphere.
Attend Church Weekly - Attending church helps increase your faith. You make Christian friends at church who can become your support system. Several logs will burn brightly together in a fireplace but if you take one out and set it aside, the flame will go out.
Share Your Faith – Telling your friends and family about your new faith in Jesus Christ will help you to grow in your faith. It may seem hard but the easy way is simply to give your testimony. Tell what your life was life before Christ, what happened when you accepted Jesus as Savior and how your life has changed since then.
