God is the creator of the universe. He spoke everything into being including the earth, the heavens, bodies of water, the animals and birds. He also created men and women in His image and gave us the authority to rule over the earth. His desire for each of us is that we would have a personal relationship with Him.

The first man created, Adam, sinned against God by disobeying His commandment concerning eating from the tree of good and evil in the Garden of Eden. This act of disobedience caused a sin nature to become part of every person born after him. The sinful part of man causes us to be separated from God because He is Holy and can’t have communion with sin.

But God loved us so much that he provided a solution in the person of His own Son, Jesus Christ. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.” This is a simple offer, but how exactly do you take advantage of it?

It’s as easy as ABC. A means admit that you are a sinner. A sinner is simply someone who has done something wrong. The B stands for believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross for your sins and rose again on the third day.

The C stands for confessing this with your mouth. It simply means to say it out loud in a prayer of surrender and commitment to God. The intent of your heart is what matters most but if you need help with the words you can pray this simple prayer in faith.

Dear God, I admit that I am a sinner, and I am sorry for my sins. I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God who died on the cross for my sins. I ask You Jesus to come into my heart and be my Lord and my Savior.  I repent of my sins and ask You to help me to live for You from this day forward. Amen.
